\n< p>JFS is excited to partner with Jewish Experiences and the Jewish Book Co uncil to welcome Adam Stern\, MD as our guest for the November 17 edition of the Acclaimed Authors Series.\nAdam Stern\, MD\, is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and the Director of Psy chiatry at BIDMC’s Berenson-Allen Center for Noninvasive Brain Stimulation . He has written extensively about his experiences as a physician in sever al publications including The New York Times\, The B oston Globe\, The New England Journal of Medicine\, The Journal of the American Medical Association\, and The American Jo urnal of Psychiatry. During the Covid-19 pandemic\, he appeared on CN N as a psychiatric expert.
\nAdam recently released his book\, C ommitted: Dispatches from a Psychiatrist in Training. The memoir brin gs readers along with Stern during his residency\, as he and his fellow do ctors’ work rounds in psychiatric wards\, grapple with impostor syndrome\, navigate their personal lives\, and experience love and loss. Stern pulls back the curtain of what it’s like to be a doctor tasked with healing the mind. This memoir celebrates human connection through the eyes of a new d octor.
