Jasmine’s Corner is a partnership between the Jewish Family Services Food Pantry, and VCA Animal Hospitals, to ensure that pets in need are being fed.

There are so many ways to get involved in Jasmine’s Corner Pet Food Pantry!

Volunteer: JFS always needs volunteers to help sort and stock donations of pet food and supplies, and to help our clients shop in the pantry.
Donate: While VCA donates food monthly, it’s never enough to cover demand. We accept cash donations, as well as shelf-stable wet and dry pet food, and supplies ranging from litter to new toys to leashes and beyond. All food and supplies must be new and unopened to guarantee the safety of pets.

Kansas City Noir Author Panel

Kansas City, famous for its jazz, barbecue, and shady history, provides the venue for Kansas City Noir, another in Akashic Books’ series of geographically specific original noir anthologies. Kansas City Noir explores Kansas City’s seedy underbelly, where naked ambition meets broken dreams.

Join us for a discussion led by editor Steve Paul and a panel of authors who have contributed short stories to Kansas City Noir on Sunday, June 9 from 2-3:30pm. Following the panel, the authors will sign books provided by Mysteryscape in Overland Park. This is a free event; reservations are requested but not required. We need your support for Passover!

JFS is helping over 150 households celebrate Passover by providing enough Kosher for Passover food to last for the entire holiday, but we need your help! We are in need of $2,500 to help cover the cost of chicken, meat and cheese, and we always welcome any donations of Kosher for Passover food.

If you are able to help, please donate any food items by Monday, March 18th to ensure delivery by Passover. Monetary donations are welcome past this date.

Community Hunger Second Seder

JFS is a co-sponsor of a unique community second night of Passover Seder experience. It will be offered on Tuesday, March 26 at Congregation Beth Shalom (14200 Lamar) beginning at 6:30 p.m. This year’s Seder experience will be dedicated to hunger awareness and activism and include traditions and customs of the Passover Seder.
