Hannah Silverman was born in Bloomington, Illinois; but has lived in Overland Park for as long as she can remember. She’s going into her sophomore year of college at the University of Kansas, majoring in Creative Writing and double minoring in French and Film Studies. Her true passion is animation, and dreams of one day writing her own animated series, maybe while living in France. This summer Hannah will be interning with Sarah Link Ferguson and The Mental Health Coalition. Her goal is to help grow the “You Be You” teen campaign, a community-wide program intended to lower teen depression and anxiety in Kansas City. Hannah will also assist marketing with social media insights and will utilize her creative writing skills to contribute to our blog.
Lizzie Altman was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. She will be a senior at the University of Kansas where she also does community service with Alzheimer’s patients and volunteers with Hillel. After graduating, with a double major in Psychology and Applied Behavioral Science, she would like to pursue a Master’s in Social Work. This summer Lizzie will be interning with Jo Hickey, JFS Food Pantry Director, on all aspects of the food pantry; with Laura Gilman, Care Management Team Manager, through Older Adult Services; and she will assist Rabbi Jonathan Rudnick, Jewish Community Chaplain, with support and research.
