Economy got you down? Feeling low as winter creeps in?
Bounce back through Resilience training. Take part in a three-session workshop in December on resiliency put on by JFS in partnership with Turning Point – The Center for Hope and Healing. The free workshop, Resilience: Learning to Bend without Breaking, takes place on three consecutive Sundays: Dec. 7, 14 and 21 from 2-5 p.m. The Dec. 7 and 21 sessions will take place at the Jewish Community Campus, 5801 W. 115th St.; the Dec. 14 session will be held at Congregation Beth Torah, 6100 W. 127th St., Overland Park.
Resilience is the ability to draw on resources and recover relatively quickly from distressing experiences. Participants in the workshop will walk away with skills to strengthen their resilience to cope with the curve balls that life throws at all of us. Funding for the workshop was made possible by a generous grant from the Menorah Legacy Foundation.
The sessions will be facilitated by Moira Mulhern, founder and CEO of Turning Point with Judaic commentary by Rabbi Jonathan Rudnick, Jewish Community Chaplain with JFS. Although this series is free, participants are asked to make a reservation by calling JFS at (913) 327-8250 or clicking here to send an RSVP.
