Facilitator: Ron Doctor, Ph.d earned his Ph.D. in nuclear engineering in 1967, and became known as Dr. Doctor, thus mirroring his ancestors, who also had a surname that reflected their professions. Near the end of his lengthy career in the energy industry and as a professor, Ron began researching his genealogy. This passion culminated in a lifetime achievement award from the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies.

Improving Strength through Daily Living
Learn about strengthening muscles through Activities of Daily Living (ADL)
Intensive exercise isn’t for everyone, but incorporating deliberate movement into activities of daily living can be done by most. This session demonstrates easy, simple, yet effective ways to strengthen muscles, if done regularly. Come prepared to practice what is demonstrated.

Facilitator: Sally N. Ellis Fletcher, PhD, RN, FNAP, is a certified Fall Stop… Move Strong™ trainer. Her professional passions are nursing, education, diversity inclusion and health equity, multiculturalism, entrepreneurship, mentoring, and humanitarianism. She is the owner of Quality Life…Every Day!, LLC, and currently serves as the Associate Dean for Students at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Nursing and Health Studies.

In light of the changing environment around COVID-19, this program will be an online webinar. Rabbi Rudnick will share remote ways to provide comfort and support to family, community, and strangers during this unique time. This event is for JFS Volunteers and Congregation partners. Gain insights into this act of loving-kindness, along with practical guidance from our Jewish Community Chaplain, Rabbi Jonathan Rudnick, who served as the first professional chaplain in Israeli healthcare and has served our KC community in this role since 2006.
