While our offices have closed to the public, our services and programs have pivoted to virtual or contactless connections.
We have taken precautions to assure all staff, volunteers and clients remain healthy and safe. To date, we have not had any positive COVID-19 results from our regular testing of direct service staff.

Kesher KC Food Pantries
Both Kesher KC Food Pantries in Overland Park and Brookside East in Kansas City are well-stocked and open. Groceries, pet supplies and other provisions are available by appointment on a drive-up basis. Delivery is available to older adults who are unable to leave their homes and live within our service area.
Support for Basic Needs
Social workers are meeting clients virtually to assist people not only challenged with food, but also with housing, employment, medical and financial insecurity. If you are experiencing difficulties meeting basic needs, please call to confidentially discuss resources to help improve your financial security.
Mental Health Support
Mental health counselors are providing therapy by video or telephonically. If you are in need of emotional support or counseling, mental health services are available, accessible, and provided regardless of ability to pay.

Older Adult Services
Care managers are ensuring older adults have access to food and other necessities, medication, essential transportation and home repair services. Calling Connections volunteers are providing regular social support with check-in calls.

The Food Pantry is accepting in-kind food donations. No-contact drop-off is offered in donation barrels at The JCC, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. or Brookside East, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. If your company or organization would like to host a Food Drive, please contact Jo Hickey, JFS Food Pantry director at (913) 327-8257 or email to fooddrives@jfskc.org

Our volunteers have pivoted to accommodate our new health and safety protocols and many are transitioning to assist with new programs and opportunities.
