Message from Don
Dear Friend,
February is wrapping up, and with it our annual Spread the Love spreadables drive. Thank you to everyone who donated and to the many local businesses and organizations who hosted collection barrels. It’s too early to report on how many pounds of peanut butter, jam, ketchup, mayo, and other spreadables were collected this month, but the impact of your donations for our pantries is immeasurable.
Passover is just around the corner, and so we’re preparing to serve 225 Kansas City families with food items to observe the holiday and celebrate with a Seder. This is a time of connection and community, and we’re honored to join with you to brighten the holiday for so many.
You can support our Passover food drive by donating food items (see below) in designated JFS Food Pantry barrels in the lobby of the Jewish Community Campus or outside the JFS Brookside location during regular business hours. If you’d rather, you can also make a financial contribution here and we’ll do the shopping instead! Finally, we’re looking for volunteers to make meal deliveries – email volunteer@jfskc.org to sign up.
Finally, make sure you read about our inspiring Volunteer of the Month Sonny Singer. We are so lucky to have volunteers like Sonny give so much of their time and energy to JFS.
Thank you for supporting JFS,
Don Goldman

Changes at the J
You may have noticed some changes when visiting our Kansas office at the J. The building is undergoing some security updates with turnstiles being added to the main entrance off the circle drive. We’re working closely with building administration to ensure a smooth transition for our clients, volunteers, and community members who come to this location. Stay tuned for more information.

Volunteer of the Month
Sonny Singer is a people person, and connecting with others is one of her favorite things about volunteering with Jewish Family Services. Singer’s dedication to making those connections positive and productive is why JFS is honoring her as its Volunteer of the Month.
