Inappropriate medication use in older adults is a growing problem. While multiple medications may be necessary to prevent the progression of the disease, the overuse, and misuse of drugs have been linked to serious health problems often leading to hospitalizations. Many of these risks can be prevented if you are armed with information about safe and appropriate medication use and how to get the most from your medications.
Dr. Michael Barton graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Pharmacy in 2015. Dr. Barton currently practices as a Clinical Pharmacist at St. Joseph Medical Center and serves as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at the UMKC School of Pharmacy. He is a board-certified geriatric pharmacist and pharmacotherapy specialist.
