Join the Heritage Center at The J virtually on Thursday, September 17, from 1 – 2:00 p.m. for a Learn, Laugh, and Love event. Rabbi Aron Rubin, Community Kollel of Kansas City, will speak about the significance of the Shofar on Rosh Hashanah. What do the various sounds represent? Why do we use a ram’s horn? Why on Rosh Hashanah? What symbolic meaning and messaging can the Shofar bring into our lives? Learn more about this element of Rosh Hashanah, only a few days before the festival.

Rabbi Aron Rubin is originally from Melbourne, Australia. He studied in Israel, returned to Melbourne to complete a double bachelor in Food Science/Chemical Engineering, then moved to New York, where he studied for Rabbinic Ordination at Yeshiva University. In August 2019, he and his family moved to Kansas City, where he runs the Kansas City Kollel while teaching at the Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy. Rabbi Rubin is passionate about teaching Torah and communal involvement. He also has an interest in cooking/baking, jogging, and indoor gardening.
