Priya is a resource for Jewish individuals and families who are struggling on their path to parenthood. The program offers emotional support, resource connection, and financial assistance for all families at any stage of their fertility and family planning journey.
For Daniel Hill and Darcy Demetre Hill, they turned to Priya after a long journey that began ten years ago. While their first retrieval and transfer successfully welcomed their twin boys in March 2013, Darcy and Daniel were only left with three embryos. In 2018, they began procedures to have a third child. However, the couple experienced multiple surgeries, failed transfers, and a miscarriage that left them with only one embryo. As they were running low on options, several friends introduced them to Priya.
While Daniel and Darcy were hesitant, they were welcomed into the Priya community as they attended bi-monthly support groups for couples and worked with experienced professionals who specialize in fertility.

“All of these services helped us feel more supported and connected to the Kansas City Jewish Community,” said Darcy Demetre Hill. “It also made our decision to continue on our journey that much easier.”
We are pleased to report that Daniel and Darcy are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their baby girl.
One year after the Hill Family had their twin boys, Seth and Rachel Katz welcomed their oldest son, Theodore. However, two months after Theodore’s birth, Rachel suffered from postpartum cardiomyopathy. While she was able to recover, her doctors recommended that they should not have another child naturally. Both Seth and Rachel agreed that they needed to grow their family and focus on the adoption process.
Our Priya staff guided Seth and Rachel on their long journey. From completing required paperwork to matching with a birth mother, Priya was there at every step as Seth and Rachel welcomed Ezra into their family.
“Bringing him home from the hospital completed our family,” wrote Seth and Rachel Katz. “As the first Priya baby born in Kansas City, he shares a special place in our community.”
With your help, Priya will continue to help Kansas City fulfill its dreams of expanding its families through adoption and fertility treatments. Help us support the dreams of more families this year by supporting our Priya fund!
