A JFS program in cooperation with the Heritage Center at The J KC.
Follow Kelly G. Loeb, JFS Older Adult Care Manager as she leads you through a meditation practice that can help you relax.
It’s important to practice self-care as we are confronted by these trying times.
An important first step is slow breathing. Then a mindfulness meditation technique will take you through our five senses—seeing, feeling, hearing, smelling, and tasting—to bring joy. Next, working muscles and then releasing that tension will help you to relax. Starting the tips of your toes and working your way up through the legs, torso, and then the head—tension and release.
JFS is here and ready to support older adults on their journey as they struggle with healthcare needs, transportation, nutrition, connection to loved ones, technology, and mental health. If you or someone you know needs a connection to resources, food, or mental health support—regardless of race, gender, age, or religion—please have them call (913) 327-8250 or email navigator@jfskc.org.
