Rosh Hodesh is a community-wide program open to all Jewish 7th and 8th grade girls in the Greater KC area, regardless of congregational affiliation or observance.
Meets one Sunday per month (September – April)
From 12:30 — 2:00 p.m. at the Jewish Community Campus
Rosh Hodesh gives girls the opportunity to express themselves in a safe environment, guided by a well-trained Jewish female role mode. The national curriculum for the program is based on the Jewish tradition of women’s New Moon celebrations to build self-esteem, Jewish identity, leadership skills, and friendships. Activities and topics at the monthly meetings include:
• Open discussions
• Arts and crafts
• Social justice
• Creative ritual
• Games and drama
• Jewish values
• Gender talks
• Body image
• Stress relief
The program cost is $160 for the year with an early bird registration price of $125 if registration and payment is received by June 15, 2018. Contact your Rabbi or Congregational Director of Education or Marcia Rittmaster, Director of Rosh Hodesh: It’s a Girl Thing! at firstname.lastname@example.org or 913-649-9524 for a Registration Form or for more information.
