Mental Health and Education
Problems big or small, you matter.
Life can be overwhelming. Things don’t always go as planned. Health, work, or relationships present challenges and heartache. At some point, all of us have problems that are difficult to handle alone. Knowing you are not alone when you need support can make all the difference.
Whether facing challenges in everyday life or times of crisis, JFS’s caring and experienced counselors and therapists are ready to help. Through support and guidance, we help you gain a clearer understanding of your situation and work with you to create an individualized plan specific to your needs.
If you or someone you know needs assistance, call JFS Navigator at 913-730-1433 or email navigator@jfskc.org. All services are by appointment. For an emergency situation, call 911.
Comprehensive Services
JFS takes the “whole person” approach to counseling, recognizing that many struggles are intertwined and one issue may compound another. Links to other JFS programs and referrals to community resources are utilized to address the complete person and their needs. If there is an issue or mental illness we aren’t equipped to handle, JFS will provide a qualified referral.
Trained therapists and clinicians have the experience to provide confidential, effective, and life-changing assistance. We’ve successfully counseled people through:
- Mental health conditions, including anxiety and depression
- Relationship challenges, including family issues, divorce, grief, and loss
- Aging issues, including caregiving, spiritual well-being, and end-of-life concerns.
