The Priya Fund supports local Jewish couples struggling with infertility. The word Priya means “fruitful” in Hebrew and comes from one of the first instructions that G-d gave to humanity. The Priya Fund was established to help those in our Jewish community build families.
For an individual or couple, facing infertility can be very painful. To realize the dream of parenthood, they encounter daunting medical, legal, and social challenges that those closest to them cannot fully understand. In their struggle to grow a Jewish family, too often individuals feel alone, overwhelmed, and financially and emotionally drained.
The Kansas City Priya Fund was established in 2015 to ensure no Jewish individual or couple needs to navigate fertility challenges alone. The Priya Fund provides substantial financial, educational, and emotional support to individuals and couples within the Kansas City Jewish community to assist with reproductive and adoption difficulties. Priya is one of the only charitable funds in the country to provide this type of assistance to Jewish couples of every Jewish denomination.
Sensitive and knowledgeable counselors provide confidential consultation, resources, and emotional support. A group of medical professionals and other supportive community members serve on the Advisory Board. Donations to the Fund are accepted at any time through the Jewish Community Foundation.
