Spiritual Care Volunteers (SCVs) gathered at Village Shalom this June to celebrate another year of visiting Jewish patients and residents in Kansas City.

Our volunteers visit many places around town including: Village Shalom, Saint Luke’s South, Overland Park Regional, Menorah, Delmar Gardens of Overland Park, The Atriums, Villa Saint Joseph, Brookdale-Leawood, Saint Luke’s on the Plaza, Delmar Gardens of Lenexa and Shawnee Mission Medical Center.
This year, award plaques were given for five years of service to SueAnn Strom and Bonnie Swade, a special recognition plaque went to Sharon Kohn for her service to our community and four newly trained SCVs were honored: Maggie Link, Jeff Roitman, Rosanne Rosen and Deborah Rosenberg.
All of the SCV volunteers are truly special for their dedication to the mitzvah of Bikkur Holim, visiting the sick in our community. They each provide encouragement and hope Jewish patient/residents and their families who are experiencing health and healing challenges.
