Food insecurity in the Kansas City area affects almost 1 in 5 families. But more families are turning to food pantries because of rising inflation that is straining household budgets.
With higher prices for housing, gas and especially food, many families are truly struggling to put food on their table. At the same time, food pantries like JFS are trying to meet these needs while coping with decreased food donations and increased demand for help. Increasingly, JFS has to purchase food to keep our shelves stocked.
JFS pantries play an important role in fighting hunger in our community. You can make a difference TODAY! Help JFS stock the shelves of our pantries. Drop off your donation of non-perishables in the donation barrel during business hours at the Jewish Community Campus or join us for our next food drive on August 21.
Don’t have time to shop? Make a donation today so we can purchase the most needed items in bulk.
Giving to the pantry is a great way to get the whole family involved in helping your community!
